At that point, Precious Black drove away, briefly dragging the officer before fleeing the scene.

The officer was not seriously injured.

After Black drove away from the initial stop, the officer returned to his patrol vehicle and pursued her. Police later said the officer lost sight of her vehicle during the chase.

Shortly after, Black’s vehicle was discovered crashed on I 70 westbound near the West Florissant exit in St. Louis.

Investigators say the car left the roadway and struck a guardrail and a light pole. Precious Black was pronounced dead at the scene.
