According to a police report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched to a residence in Henderson around 4:43 p.m. after 33-year-old Rashawn Williams requested a wellness check on her mother, Shirley Raines.
Investigators also noted a finished plate of food on Raines’ bed, along with a single white pill found near her pillow, as reported by PEOPLE. Police were also informed that Raines was reportedly taking a medication, though the specific name of that medication was redacted in the report.
Rashawn Williams told officers that she had been unable to reach her mother throughout the day and that there was no response at the door, even though she could hear a phone ringing inside the home.Police ultimately forced entry to complete the wellness check.
Her son was the last person to speak with her in the early afternoon last Friday (January 23), the report also says.
Inside the home, officers found Shirley upstairs on the floor next to her bed. She was unresponsive and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Clark County Coroner’s Office was notified.
